Massive Preview

Comic-Con is officially underway and the crowd at the Preview Night has grown to rival that of any day of the show now except for Saturday.
The line to pick up badges was long, with some waiting two hours to get their badge. It was gratifying to see Variety’s most recent issue, with the Comic-Con and Stan Lee special reports in them stacked up on the registration desks and a huge pallet of boxes in the corner.
Among the highlights of the preview night were a packed DC Comics booth, the huge Star Wars pavilion, complete with lifesize X-Wing fighter, chatting for a moment with Dark Horse Comics’ Lee Dawson and meeting the crew at AiT-PlanetLar in the independent pavilion.
The booths get larger and more elaborate as the convention grows. Huge booths for Sci Fi Channel, an entire pavilion for “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” including costumes, and a small table at the Nickelodeon booth with a sign on it reading “Development Meetings.”
Comic-Con has come a long way. Tomorrow's going to be busy ...
