Lex and Lois
Few bits and pieces of news to wrap up:
Kevin Spacey has signed to play Lex Luthor in Bryan Singer's "Superman" film while Spacey's co-star in "Beyond the Sea," Kate Bosworth, has been tapped for Lois Lane. Spacey worked with Singer on "The Usual Suspects" and won the first of his two Oscars for his portrayal of Verbal Kint. Spacey directed, produced and stars as Bobby Darin in "Beyond the Sea," with Bosworth playing Sandra Dee. "Superman" begins production March 3 at Fox Studios Sydney; Spacey is slated to begin work in the summer.
Frank Miller will return to Batman as the writer of "All-Star Batman and Robin," coming this July from DC Comics with Jim Lee handling the art chores. A book with those two talents will have plenty of cachet with fans and should fly off the shelves. But what's interesting is that the news of Miller's role was broken by The New York Times web site.
Dreamwave Productions, the Canadian comics shop that produced such licensed comics hits as the Transformers, has shut down.
