Odds and ends that slipped by while we were offline for various projects:

* A profile of Ross Richie and Andrew Cosby's comic house Boom! Studios ran today in the business section of the Los Angeles Times, using Wizard World Los Angeles as the jumping off point.

*Jay Kennedy, editor of chief of King Features Syndicate, died in a water accident while on vacation in Costa Rica. He was 50. Tom Spurgeon at the Comics Reporter has an impressive and very complete obit up.

* Warner Home Video is bringing two classic superhero series to DVD on June 26. First up is 1977's "The New Adventures of Batman," which was produced by Filmation and featured the voices of Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin. Series also featured Bat-Mite as a recurring character. It only ran one season of Saturday mornings on CBS. WB also will release a 2-disc set of the animated "New Adventures of Superman" series. These were four-minute toons produced in the mid-1960s and the DVD will include all 36 episodes.
