Comic-Con by Categories: Games, Webcomics and Tech
The number of games press releases coming to my inbox suggests that games companies are paying more attention to Comic-Con as a way to reach mainstream press and fans now that E3 has downsized.
Webcomics stuff looks very interesting this year, and the field seems poised to break out with so many folks jumping into the waters.
Thursday
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Episodic Games and Comics: Made for Each Other. Room 1AB
12:30-1:30 p.m. GoComics Mobile Comics. Room 2
3:30-4:30 p.m. Demons of Mercy: Marvel and Maxum Reinvent Storyline on the Xbox 360. Room 6A
5–6 PC p.m. Gamer and Maximum PC: How to Play a Better Game. Room 30AB
6-7 p.m. FTW!: Breaking into the Video Game Industry. Room 30AB
6-7 p.m. How To Become an Internet Geek Super-Star. Room 30CDE
Friday
10:30-11:30 a.m. Comic Base/Atomic Avenue. Room 10
* 3:30-4:30 p.m. Business of Web Comics. Room 8. Anyone interested in webcomics should be required to attend a panel like this one.
3:30-4:30 p.m. WOW! It’s World of Warcraft! Room 4
3:30-4:30 p.m. Marvel Video Games. Room 5AB
5-6 p.m. PC Gamer and Maximum PC: How to Play a Better Game, Part 2. Room 30AB
6-7 p.m. Confessions of a Game Designer. Room 30AB
Saturday
3-4 p.m. “The Darkness” Game. Room 8
*4:15-5:15 p.m. Re\Visioned: “Tomb Raider” — A GameTap Exclusive Animated Series. Room 6A. This will get a lot of attention for the talent attached to it, including comics stars Jim Lee and Warren Ellis, and "Aeon Flux" creator Peter Chung.
5:30-6:30 p.m. Keenspot Unplugged 2007. Room 3
5-6 p.m. PC Gamer and Maximum PC: How to Play a Better Game, Part 3. Room 30AB
Sunday
* 1-2:30 p.m. Masters of the Web. Room 6A. If you ever wanted to talk to the guys who posted the spoilers to your last project, this is where you'll want to be.
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Capcom: Shade II. Room 4
3:30-4:30 p.m. PC Gamer and Maximum PC: How to Play a Better Game, Part 4. Room 30AB
