Blue Dream Studios
BLUE DREAM STUDIOS HITS SAN DIEGO WITH ALL-AGES FARE
Specials, daily contests, Pet Robots and The Dreamland Chronicles 2 debut, and The Dreamland Chronicles toys showcased
Nashville, TN -- July 20, 2007 -- Scott Christian Sava’s Blue Dream Studios is, like everyone else, heading to Comic-Con International: San Diego (July 26-29). But not like everyone else, Blue Dream’s sole enterprise is for every age, from 1 to 100. At booth #1947 visitors and fans can come by and purchase the new PET ROBOTS and see a preview copy THE DREAMLAND CHRONICLES BOOK 2. They can also purchase two collectible figures based on the acclaimed and award-winning THE DREAMLAND CHRONICLES: the fiery Queen of the Elves, Nastajia Ashenheart, and the cute and bubbly fairy, Kiwi (designed by world-famous animation artist Dean Yeagle).
Sava and character designer Karen Krajenbrink will also be at the booth sketching and signing away.
Drawings will be held daily where fans can win a signed copy of every book (THE DREAMLAND CHRONICLES, PET ROBOTS, ED’S TERRESTRIALS, THE LAB, and PSI KIX), as well as one each of the collectible figures, featuring an original sketch by Sava.
Both the Nastajia and Kiwi collectible figures are limited to 1,000, are signed and numbered, and will be the only ones featuring sketches and signatures. They will retail for $24.95 and will also be available online at www.thedreamlandchronicles.com. After the 1,000 sell out, newer versions of the figures will not feature those collectible features.
“This is a big, big show for me,” said Sava. “I have so many exciting things happening. The figures look terrific, PET ROBOTS looks gorgeous, and the contest is going to be a lot of fun. The fans have been great, too, what with DREAMLAND being voted Favorite Original Graphic Novel in Comics Buyer’s Guide’s Fan Awards. I’m really looking forward to meeting all of my new fans at the con and I can’t thank all of my current fans enough for supporting me and for telling me how you share my books with your family, friends, and, especially, your kids.”
THE DREAMLAND CHRONICLES: BOOK ONE (ISBN: 978-0-9789168-0-0, $19.95, 300 pages, full-color perfectbound, 6” x 9”) is in retailers’ stores now or can be ordered if you ask your friendly retailer to get it for you today. BOOK ONE (of an anticipated 6-book epic) collects the first four issues of the series that “will return you to the days of your childhood and…help your imagination fly free.” [JazmaOnline.com]. BOOK TWO will be released worldwide in a few months. New adventures in Dreamland are revealed every weekday at the DREAMLAND website where the ongoing epic is consistently one of the TOP TEN comics on the web according to the TOP WEB COMICS list and where it just reached its 2-millionth unique reader.
Releasing in August, Sava’s and artist Diego Jourdan’s PET ROBOTS (Blue Dream Studios, Diamond Order Code: JUN07 3325, ISBN: 978-0-9789168-2-4, $19.95, full-color hardcover, 10.5” x 6.75”), is a Diamond Previews “Kid Friendly” selection and tells the fun-filled adventure of four students---Jake, Chris, Tammy, and Tommy---who lose their way while on a field trip to the Rooty Tooty Toy Company. In their quest to find their way back to the rest of the class, they stumble upon a room inhabited only by four military-looking toy robots. The field trip ends, but unbeknownst to Jake, Chris, Tammy and Tommy, the robots follow them home. Now, as they learn the wonders of their new robotic friends Rock, Wind, Aqua and Skye, our four young heroes must also avoid the evil owner of the Rooty Tooty Toy Company, Vandenburger Meisterburger. He wants his robots back.
ED’S TERRESTRIALS (Writer: Scott Christian Sava, Artist Diego Jourdan, ISBN: 978-0-9789168-1-7, $19.95, full-color hardcover, 10.5” x 6.75”) is an out-of-this world adventure featuring escaped aliens Marcello, Gus and Al who crash land in…Ed’s tree house. Now Ed must decide what he can do to help the three escapees live out their dreams, but figure out how he can help scores of other oppressed aliens as well. All of this while dodging the Intergalactic Food Court’s relentless Mall Security guards.

Platinum Studios
Top 50 Entrants From Around the Globe Pitch Comic Book Concepts at Secret Location near the 2007 International Comic-Con in San Diego
LOS ANGELES, July 20, 2007 - Platinum Studios (www.PlatinumStudios.com), an entertainment media company that controls one of the world’s largest independent libraries of comic book characters, today announced the lineup of judges for Platinum Studios’ 2007 Comic Book Challenge presented by AT&T. The panelists include John H. Williams, producer for the “Shrek” film series; actor Donald Faison of hit TV program “Scrubs;” Platinum Studios’ CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, who discovered the “Men In Black” comic and brought it to the big screen, and D.J. Coffman, winner of last year’s Comic Book Challenge.
“The best part about this year’s panel for Platinum Studios’ 2007 Comic Book Challenge is that we’re truly a group of fans ‘moonlighting’ as Hollywood insiders,” said Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, chairman and CEO of Platinum Studios. “Donald, John and I all grew up reading and enjoying the genre, and that’s what we’ll be looking for from these Top 50 entrants who have made it to the pitch phase of the Comic Book Challenge.”
The Top 50 entrants in Platinum Studios’ 2007 Comic Book Challenge will present their concepts to this panel of industry judges live next week at a secret location near International Comic-Con in San Diego. The annual competition invites aspiring creators from around the world to submit original comic-book concepts in a head-to-head challenge, of which the winner will receive a multi-media development and publishing deal that includes print, online and mobile distribution as well as the creation of a licensing and merchandising program — a rare opportunity for newcomers to a fiercely competitive segment of the entertainment industry. Additionally, Platinum Studios expects to help develop the property for a potential film and television deal.
“The best part about Platinum Studios’ Comic Book Challenge is that they really offer newcomers the resources and backing needed to make it in today’s comic book industry,” added Williams. “With 20 years of experience in my back pocket, I can truly say that that’s the kind of team you want in your corner in this industry.”
“As an artist and an actor, I’m truly excited to be a part of a worldwide competition to find some of the industry’s hottest new creators,” said Donald Faison. “The genre has been one of my favorite pastimes partly because it has again and again proven to be an incubator for some of Hollywood’s biggest films.”
Faison’s and Williams’ screen credits include some of the industry’s most-memorable hits and award-winning series. Williams was a producer on all three of DreamWorks’ “Shrek” installments, as well as films such as “Tuxedo” starring Jackie Chan and “Seven Years in Tibet” starring Brad Pitt.
Actor Donald Faison currently stars as ‘Dr. Christopher Turk’ in his seventh season on NBC’s Emmy-nominated series “Scrubs.” Faison made his film debut in a role opposite Angela Bassett in “Waiting to Exhale,” and has appeared in numerous other major feature films including “Something New,” “Clueless” and “Remember the Titans.”
As the winner of last year’s Comic Book Challenge, D.J. Coffman has received accolades and winning reviews for his debut “Hero By Night.” The story centers on Jack King, a young man who discovers the secret lair of a 1950’s superhero in his new apartment building and must decide whether or not to use the hero’s source of power to become a superhero himself.
Coffman has a unique role on the panel during this year’s Comic Book Challenge -- providing running commentary and analysis for the AT&T blue room web-broadcast of the Top 50 entrants’ pitches. Platinum Studios recently welcomed AT&T as the presenting sponsor of the Comic Book Challenge for the next three years. Fans can see the best the competition has to offer, vote for their favorites online and see the web-broadcast at www.attblueroom.com/hollywood beginning in late July.
Entries for Platinum Studios Comic Book Challenge came from six continents and 21 countries. The winner of the 2007 Comic Book Challenge will be formally announced in late August, and the winner's comic book or graphic novel will be published and premiere at a major Wizard World convention in 2008. For more information on the Platinum Studios’ Comic Book Challenge please visit www.PlatinumStudios.com.
“With top-notch talent coming from around the globe, this year’s event will be one to remember,” concluded Rosenberg.

In the unsanctioned, underground, and unhinged world of extreme Ping-Pong, the competition is brutal and the stakes are deadly. Now, this outrageous new comedy serves up this secret world for the first time on-screen. Down-and-out former professional Ping-Pong phenom Randy Daytona (Tony Award winner Dan Fogler) is sucked into this maelstrom when FBI Agent Rodriguez (George Lopez) recruits him for a secret mission. Randy is determined to bounce back and recapture his former glory, and to smoke out his father’s (Robert Patrick) killer – one of the FBI’s Most Wanted, arch-fiend Feng (Academy Award winner Christopher Walken). But, after two decades out of the game, Randy can’t turn his life around and avenge his father’s murder without a team of his own. He calls upon the spiritual guidance of blind Ping-Pong sage and restaurateur Wong (James Hong), and the training expertise of Master Wong’s wildly sexy niece Maggie (Maggie Q), both of whom also have a dark history with Feng. All roads lead to Feng’s mysterious jungle compound and the most unique Ping-Pong tournaments ever staged. There, Randy faces such formidable players as his long-ago Olympics opponent, the still-vicious Karl Wolfschtagg (Thomas Lennon). Can Randy keep his eye on the ball?
