Ross To Helm "Venom"
I am hearing that the studio is in talks with Ross to helm the Spidey-spinoff “Venom,” and rewrite the script.
Ross will begin writing the script as soon as he completes the “Spider-Man” film.
While Venom showed up in the last Spidey installment, the intention is to start from scratch. Topher Grace played him in the last picture but the role will likely be recast.

Sounds nice, but I'd keep Topher in the role, people relate to him in the part, because of the Spidey 3 casting.

Thank God! The Venom actor needs to be of bigger build, and more of an anon person, so the mask can stay on. Topher was one of the main reasons Venom failed in Spidey 3 in my eyes.

Topher ruined the part, not to mention Sam Raimi didnt want him in the movie anyways. Venom wasnt some 110 lb jerk, he was a former body builder turned freelance photographer. To recast Topher would be a disgrace to the character. Of course with being a Venom only outing, he will obviously be playing the role of villian who is the good guy thing. Very few people come to mind to play him, maybe the likes of Dominic Purcell?

GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS MOVIE PRODUCERS DUSHS: WE DON"T NEED NOR WANT THIS MOVIE TO BE MADE> though we don't care, i figured save the movie and save it for a better movie that will not suck.

I Agree. Why Make Crap, you only get by just alittle bit and of course push comic fans back acouple years. hell i'm not a comic guy but i'm a awesome movie guy. If this movie is good then i will be surpised. really. This just sounds like movie producers don't listen or get it. Fans wanted venom to have a long awesome fight, not an entire movie about him...he's a fu**king villian not a saint. How will this work. It's the same formula as CATWOMAN and that was terrible and a waste of talent. Why don't they just wait. just wait and ruin something else. Maybe videogame movies. Make me a Halo or Metroid Movie.

Make a Morbous Movie and bring back Blade. Make a Ninja Gaiden Movie with Tony Jaa. make a Metal Gear Movie with Thomas Jane. Any of these sound better then Venom's movie. I would like to see a new Riddick movie now that someone said vin diesel and good movie. Fatf 4 sucked lol. I hope Fox isn't still into making that Mr. Fantastic Movie or featuring him in Venom..rumors from back in the days. Leave the web slinging to Spidey 4. How will they explain venoms web ablities if a new concept on venom. So Spidey would have to be in it. Anywho this venom saga better be going somewhere by the end( could be carnage & Venom in Spidey 5) because what other reason to make a superhero movie then to make sequels...keyword of making profit is SEQUELS. and sequels only come to movies that continue reason and movie seats.

I Doubt it. It will suck. And Topher grace didn't really ruin anything it's just he wasn't fit for venom. I did like his gig but well we know. I think Vin Diesel would have been a better choice for "Eddie Brock". Or Anyone with muscle and talent. I just Hope they get rid of the old cast in spider 4. Mcguire makes me depressed and Dunst never really reminded me of Mary Jane...she is supposed to be hot. If Kraven is in it then Bencio Del Torro is my fan pick. The Rock would best fit either Rhino or Shocker. and Myserio would best fit Jack Black.

im getting tired with all the recasting and cross over of titles by marvel. this is exactly what made it so difficult for fans to follow the comics during the 90s which led to a huge decline in readership. if marvel isnt careful, they're going to dilute and confuse the core brands further with second rate junk.

Your right mike. Junk! Your right devil's...sux guy. Sequels are the reasons behind most great superhero movies. You needed Batman Begins to make way for Dark Knight. You needed X-men 1 to properly get the action started in X2. So if it's a new venom then what's the point or reason. Wouldn't he be going after Spider-man; hello You couldn't have Venom without the black alien going to Spidey first; the powers and webing. I think this movie will just be another Catwoman meets Spawn. Why not make a dr. Strange movie already, or just not at all and let marvels big dogs do the barkin

Where's the heroes in this story coming from if it isn't Spiderman?
I think these Villain movies might end up being a mistake... Magneto too...

Why can't anyone properly type or communicate in English on this blog? I get the feeling that the age group of most of you is 10 or under. Therefore, you will like what you're told to like. That's how Hollywood does it, that's how marketing companies do it and you will watch these movies even if it comes down to the bargin bin 4 years from now.

Hey, let them make a VENOM movie. Chances are 50-50 it WILL suck, but these days a bad or unsuccessful movie does not mean an end to the character. It took a while, but Batman rose from the ashes of BATMAN and ROBIN. And I hear they are making a new JUDGE DREDD ( the other one was the worst). Everyone seems to hate the solo WOLVERINE; ORIGINS so maybe they are listening to some of the complaints and wont make the obvious cinematic blunders that film did. I doubt a VENOM movie would be tied into SPIDER MAN 3, you know all the legal issues and all. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Spend a lot of money on casting and writing! Spend a good amount on FX (PLEASE DO NOT GO TRANSFORMERS CRAZY).
A good story will sell tickets. Stick with the Darknight type, do not go the silly goofy Arnold Schwarzenegger mr. freeze route. As the kids say....KEEP IT REAL!

Spider man 3 is One has to consider that the film's problems -- and they are numerous -- may be the product of the franchise's runaway popularity.
