Microsoft Scores Elfman

xbox_fable.jpgThree-time Grammy Award winner Danny Elfman will lend his musical scoring skills to Microsoft's upcoming Xbox role-playing adventure game, Fable.

Elfman has reached "that guy" status amongst movie goers, and judging by his body of work, probably gamers as well. Those who stick around for the credits have seen his name scroll across the screen since 1985 when he composed the music for Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Since then, he's worked on dozens of films, including "Batman," "Army of Darkness," "Men In Black" and "The Hulk."

It's the latest big name grab for Microsoft, in what is turning into a wicked public relations battle with Electronic Arts over which company can sign the biggest name talent. Recently, EA lined up a series of celebrities to promote brands like the 007 series, while Microsoft has set up online game events where fans could challenge their favorite star to a one-on-one match.
