Spielberg to Create Vid-Games

The big news today is that Spielberg wants a piece of the gaming pie. He’s signed up with Electronic Arts and you can read all about it in Variety.

A little sample:

In the highest profile example yet of the vidgame biz teaming with Hollywood talent, Steven Spielberg has pacted with Electronic Arts to create three original videogame franchises. Initial work has already begun on the first title. EA is keeping it tightly under wraps, though it is expected to be sci-fi or action adventure.

It’s still too early to be critical here so I’ll save my switching guns with walkie-talkies and E.T. on the Atari 2600 jokes until later, thank you very much.
