Kudos to Shane Hurlbut for remaining such a professional in the face of such unbelievably bad behavior and shame on the foul mouthed brat who will never be asked to work on my film set. I respect my crew too much. He has become a self-absorbed product of his own success.

D-man

How is distracting the lead actor professional? If Hurlbut was repeatedly walking in front of Bale's eyeline, then he was indeed at fault.

Adrian

The best isn't here. It is the isolation of all the F words that Howard Stern's crew put together yesterday. That really drove home the obsessiveness of this "conversation". It is a shame, though, because I've liked bale since EMPIRE OF THE SUN, but no matter how annoyed, this is wrong.

Eric

Mr. Hurlbut simply said he was sorry rather than joining in a contest to see who could be the most profane, self-centered brat. In any other profession Mr. Bale would have been fired, fined, ejected from the game, suspended, reprimanded or the like. It is human nature to get angry. It is the height of arrogance to believe that one has the self-importance to justify behaving this way toward toward anyone, eye line not withstanding.

Matthew Robillard

These dance mixes are hilarious! No doubt Bale's having a chuckle listening to them right now. As to the tirade, that's business as usual in our business. Yes he's being a total and complete prick to the DP, but that's what happens when a star as big as Bale has to go through life with enormous stress and responsibility. It's called being a "big star" and having a blow torch in your face the whole time. The pressure those guys are under is incredible. He blew up at the crew, and was probably provoked by the DP's behaviour, and a day or two later felt like a complete asshole about it. Everybody moves on and gets the picture in the can. The tirade is great because it's a glimpse of real life, which in an ET-sanitized world is a nice change.

on the above remixes is that really Bale's voice?

[EDITOR'S NOTE: Yep. Here's the original: http://tinyurl.com/baleranting]

Ten minutes of bile from Bale was no worse than ANY day with David O Russell (and we've seen his love song to Lilly Tomlin to prove it.)

Big Bomb

I got to see him work on The Prestige, and he had to do the same scene 12 times -- each time making you believe his daughter was being ripped from his arms forever, while five feet away guys in shorts are eating bagels and checking their texts ...

Kelly

OMFG, this is Genius.

WOW, Christian Bale having a tough time finding work.

jgtyo

Big Bomb's comment is spot on.

If a real director had directed Terminator 4 he would've diffused the situation and let Bale save his (considerable) energy. McG is a child.

AD

This is the best one.

In any other circumstance, he should have gotten a punch in the mouth.
Everybody is a tough guy when set protocol (and financial interests) make you top dog,and above a beating. Even the playing field a bit and it would be interesting to see how he, or any of the other puffed up, self important blowhards, would behave. An ass kicking tends to change behavior...
