As the world churns -- Reilly in talks with Fox
The rumors about Kevin Reilly (pictured left) heading to Fox started before he'd
cleaned out his office at NBC, and apparently the talks have picked up steam in the past few days, as Variety reports. We could be in for a reunion of the team that made FX cool in the early part of this decade. Peter Liguori (pictured right) and Reilly always did seem like a good team, with complementary skills and simpatico personalities. Here's hoping there's a win-win scenario in this for two classy execs...

Variety's Team TV -- Cynthia Littleton, Stu Levine, Jon Weisman, Andrew Wallenstein and A.J. Marechal -- provides a roundup of stories big and small, as well as opinions and analysis from across the TV dial.

The one thing that doesn't make sense... Peter Liguori hasn't really done THAT great a job at Fox picking out entertainment programming. Has he? 5 drama cancelled this year? Hardly Fox-like comedies. I hear he is a natural leader, a very well liked exec., etc., etc. but programmer? Entertainment President of a major network? Not so sure. I mean really if it weren't for American Idol, 24 and two shows also developed before his time at the network: Prison Break and Bones which do - OK, where would the network be? Certainly not #1. Dare I say it... bring back Berman, hey at least the staff will have ice cream Fridays every now and then and a huge woman running around with a bullhorn touting rating successes every once in a while. Reilly, at FOX, may be able to be a success as a broadcast network President. He certainly has the creative chops and perhaps this time management would let him spread his wings and support him.
