Goodbye "Sopranos"
It was a nice way to end the night, with a boatload of writers, producers, directors and stars of "The Sopranos" taking a final bow. There were so many of them that they were brought up in two groups -- the scribe-producers and the actors, though Tony Sirico stood with both (so in character). They all had kind words for one another, and David Chase was ultra-cool and unflappable in discussing his much-discussed finale moment of darkness. But most telling to me was the way the actors looked reverently at Chase as they stood on the side waiting for their turn. And when the scribes were done, Chase, Brad Grey and exec producer Matthew Weiner stood in a group on the side and watched the actors (sans Gandolfini and Falco) speak their piece.
A nice way to go out, after all....
