I've been a fan of SoapNet since it launched. It's great. I watch the shows I missed during the day, like "The Young and the Restless" and "Days of Our Lives." The weekend marathons are also a great way to catch up.

I LOVE SOAPNET! When i lived in Georgia - and had no tivo - I would watch General Hospital at 10pm OR catch the marathon on sundays. It was a saving grace because I love Maurice Bernard and Steve Burton. I'm glad the network is expanding and I hope it lasts for a long time.

I watch 'One Life to Live' on SoapNet every night. I don't know what I'd do without it.
Great channel... although, I wish they'd bring back Knots Landing reruns!

If this is going to the serialized drama, then that is good, because those are disappearing faster than ever as TV Land and other genre-specific brandsgo beyond their original purpose (sometimes way too far), and there is less and less true classic TV, other than 6 channels running the same sitcom.
at least soapnet is staying in the realm of TV drama, and not creating another reality variation on models, B-list celebrity home life, or generic competition.

It's interesting to see their choices of primetime shows, particularly (for example) Mad Men but not other in my mind even more soap-esque programs such as Friday Night Lights.

SOAPnet's original programming is great this summer, and I'm always grateful for multiple opportunities to watch the daytime dramas I miss while at work.

Love how they're speaking to a few different audiences with pages on soaps for the new gen such as gossip girl and the hills (we KNOWWW its not real). Is it bad that I watch soap net to re-live the glory days of the oc? good, just checking :)

Even though prime-time shows like Desperate Housewives essentially claim to be soaps, they can't really compete with the crazy storylines of original 5-day a week-ers. I actually really admire the suspension of disbelief that many of them require, what with vampires, twin brothers, and other crazy ways to get rid of / reintroduce cast members.

I've watched SoapNet sporadically, but moreso since they've ben re-running the OC in the afternoons. I want to get caught up with the new drama, MVP, as well. I think the network performs a valuable service for long-forgotten (or overlooked) dramas...
I waited for years to see the full(and only)season of Pasadena, with Dana Delaney.
