PILOTS: Great Scotts! Ridley and Tony get a CW pickup

CiaLogo  The CW is adding a little adrenaline to its pilot lineup, picking up the actioner “Nomads.”

Drama centers on a group of young backpackers who find a way to make some extra money by doing secret missions for the C.I.A.

Drama comes from creator Ken Sanzel (“Numbers”), as well as Ridley Scott and Tony Scott, through their Scott Free Prods. banner. Sanzel will direct the pilot in addition to writing and creating “Nomads.”

Project will be shot as a presentation.

CBS TV Studios and Warner Bros. TV are the studios. Sanzel, the two Scotts and David Zucker are the exec producers.

For those of you keeping track at home, “Nomads” reps at least the fourth C.I.A.-related pilot picked up by the nets. There’s Fox’s comedy “The Station,” about a C.I.A. field office in South America; CBS’ Tom Spezialy-penned “Chaos,” also set in the world of the C.I.A.; and NBC’s J.J. Abrams/Josh Reims entry “Undercovers,” about a husband and wife who are reactivated as C.I.A. agents.
