"Ghost Whisperer" to ABC's Friday lineup? It's possible

Ghost
"Ghost Whisperer" may still have a pulse.

The Jennifer Love Hewitt drama, just canceled by CBS, could potentially make its way to ABC's Friday night sked.

The show is a co-production between ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios, so a deal may be feasible in transferring the show from one sibling network to another.

And indeed, ABC scheduling chief Jeff Bader said that the network even toyed with the idea of "Ghost Whisperer" on Fridays at 8 p.m., should it become available.

"We talked a lot about it," Bader said. "It could make a good lead-in to 'Body of Proof.' "

The network will likely kick the tires on "Ghost Whisperer" starting tomorrow (as they're a tad preoccupied today, prepping for their afternoon upfront presentation).

It all comes down to economics -- and whether the net wants to divert some programming funds to pick up a CBS castoff. And there's also the issue of running two scripted dramas on Friday, where the net current has a reality series at 8 p.m. as a cost containment move.

But "Ghost" and star Hewitt may be too good an opportunity to pass up. And it may even make more sense than "The New Adventures of Old Christine."

ABC had a deal in place last year to pick up "Old Christine" if CBS dumped it. But this year, the Alphabet has a much healthier stable of laffers and doesn't necessarily need "Old Christine."

Nonetheless, ABC topper Steve McPherson said earlier this morning -- before he knew that the show was available -- that he'd be interested in looking at the property if it became up for grabs.

It seems that whenever I like a show, it gets canceled. For example..." The Cleaner " which was on A&E.
It seems that I'm the only one who appreciates a good tv show.
Ghost Whisperer is the only thing worth watching in the 8pm time slot on Fridays.
Kudos to ABC, if, they pick up this show ! !

Fingers are crossed for ABC pick-up! And since Gary Unmarried has bit the dust maybe Jay could return. Alas, Jaime Kennedy has so little charisma. Jim's character might be fleshed out too. (Perhaps ABC could ignore the step-in foolishness.) Despite these slip-ups the show is the only network show worth watching. Most others are either embarrassingly juvenile or stomach-churning bloody. Who creates such shows as Two and a Half Men? Who for?

Wow, when I read that ABC would be interested in picking up ghost whisperer, feelings of hope and relief came over me! I absolutely love this show and know many people who do as well. It would be tragic to see it end. :((
