Oprah, Neil Patrick Harris, Tina Fey to get Hollywood Walk of Fame stars
The 2011 recipients of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame include mega star Oprah Winfrey -- who could, perhaps, spend the money to actually etch her name on a real star up in the heavens -- and crowd pleaser Neil Patrick Harris, who I assume will host his own ceremony.
Other names from the world of TV landing a star include Tina Fey, Danny DeVito, Ed O'Neill, "Cops" producer John Langley (whose star ought to be fixed with a camera to catch the sordid dealings on Hollywood Blvd.), "American Idol" exec producer Simon Fuller and "ER" exec producer John Wells.
The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the news on Thursday. Stars were chosen from hundreds of nominations, and will be doled out throughout 2011
Here are the recipients from the other worlds of entertainment:
MOTION PICTURES: Penelope Cruz, Bruce Dern, Laura Dern, Diane Ladd, Ed Harris, The Muppets, Kenny Ortega, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ridley Scott, Sissy Spacek, Donald Sutherland and Reese Witherspoon.
RECORDING: Melissa Etheridge, Los Tigres Del Norte, Rascal Flatts, Go-Go’s, Slash, Will i. Am, and Bebe & Cece Winans. Posthumous: Buddy Holly and Louis Prima.
LIVE PERFORMANCE/THEATRE: Joe Mantegna

Variety's Team TV -- Cynthia Littleton, Stu Levine, Jon Weisman, Andrew Wallenstein and A.J. Marechal -- provides a roundup of stories big and small, as well as opinions and analysis from across the TV dial.
