CBS TV Studios signs deal with comics publisher Oni Press

Onipress CBS TV Studios is looking to mine the library of comic book publisher Oni Press.

The Eye has sealed a first-look deal with Oni Press and sister shingle Closed on Mondays Entertainment. Under the pact, announced Thursday at the Comic-Con confab, CBS TV Studios will look to develop TV projects based on Oni’s library -- including new and library comic and graphic novels.

Deal marks a move into the small screen world for Oni Press, which published the source material for the upcoming Universal feature “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.”
