Bryan Fuller co-pilots pilot for Syfy
"Pushing Daisies" and "Dead Like Me" creator Bryan Fuller is back in business, co-writing a pilot for Syfy based on John Christopher's book "The Lotus Caves."
Fuller is teaming with Jim Grey on the adaptation of Christopher's story about a group of rebel lunar colonists who discover a network of caves ruled by an advanced alien species.
The announcement adds to the eclectic development slate that Syfy revealed July 30.
Fuller's other noteworthy credits include "Heroes," "Wonderfalls" and "Star Trek: Voyager."
In addition, Syfy has picked up the third season of "Merlin" from FremantleMedia. A premiere date has been scheduled for early 2011. Season two averaged 1.72 million viewers per episode (687,000 in adults 18-49), providing nearly double the audience for Syfy compared to its programming a year earlier. The U.S. premiere of "Merlin" was on NBC in the summer of 2009, before it moved to Syfy this past spring.
