Long before Keri Russell, there was Mia Farrow's 1965 'Peyton Place' hair goof
USA Network research VP Ted Linhart collects TV memorabilia -- and just posted a pretty cool one (via his Twitter feed).
In 1965, "Peyton Place" star Mia Farrow cut her hair -- without letting the show's producers know beforehand. Oops. In a letter to Farrow, now framed and just added to Linhart's collection, a "Peyton Place" exec producer expresses his displeasure -- but assures Farrow that things can be worked out.
Coincidentally, that happens to be a current storyline on HBO's "Entourage," where Vincent Chase's decision to shave his locks forces a delay in his movie's reshoots.
And, of course, no talk of TV hair can carry on for long without a mention of "Felicity" star Keri Russell. Russell cut her hair with the show's permission -- but the decision to give the star a short bob is still cited as a major mistake, and one that actually had a negative effect on the show.
Hair is serious business in Hollywood.
