NBC picks up game show pilot from Jimmy Fallon

Record1“Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon is behind the NBC game show pilot “That’s a Record.”

Hosted by G4’s Chris Hardwick, show is based on the Universal Record Database, a website that chronicles users’ attempts at some unusual world records.

Among the records currently featured on URDB.com: The fastest time to knock three plastic forks off a counter using your nose; the fastest time to blow a whistle at a potholder ten times; and the fastest time to put on three shirts while balancing on another person’s shoulders.

Fallon has included URDB stunts on past additions of “Late Night,” inspiring the “That’s a Record” pilot.

3 Ball Prods. (“The Biggest Loser”) is behind “That’s a Record,” along with Fallon. Pilot shot on Thursday in Simi Valley.

Busy Hardwick hosts “Web Soup” for G4 and is a regular contributor to “Attack of the Show.” He also just shot the Comedy Central pilot “Tonight’s Funniest.” His other credits include “Singled Out,” as well as various acting and radio gigs.

Below, a pic from the pilot taping, as Tweeted by Hardwick:

Writes Hardwick: "From the set of 'That's A Record!' THIS is happening!!!"

And here's a world record trick from the URDB website, to give you an example of the quirkiness of it all:
