EXCLUSIVE: 'Royal Pains' exec producers sign deal with Universal Cable Prods.

“Royal Pains” exec producers Andrew Lenchewski and Michael Rauch have each signed two-year deals with Universal Cable Prods, the studio behind the popular series.Royal_pains_car

Show, which has aired for two seasons, has been a bonafide hit for USA Network. It was the No. 1 new cable scripted series when it launched in 2009, running for 12 episodes over the summer.

In 2010, “Royal Pains” averaged 7.3 million overall viewers, including just over 3 million in the 18-49 demo and 3.5 million in the 25-54 demo.

New pact represents a two-year extension for both show creator Lenchewski and Rauch. Both will remain exec producers on “Royal Pains” for the skein’s third and fourth seasons.

Technically, the show has not been renewed yet for a fourth season but with stellar ratings propelling the series, the fourth season pickup is virtually a certainty. Season three will air next summer.

The deal also includes the two working on future projects for UCP.

“Royal Pains” stars Mark Feuerstein as a blackballed doctor who ends up working in the tony Hamptons area of Long Island.
