HBO picks up potential Julia Louis Dreyfus comedy to pilot
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, most recently seen guesting on "30 Rock's" live episode, could be back with her own series soon -- on HBO.
The pay cabler has picked up a comedy pilot from Brit scribe Armando Iannucci ("In the Loop") that could potentially star Louis-Dreyfus. "Veep" would rep the star's first regular series since CBS canceled "The New Adventures of Old Christine" last season.
In "Veep," Louis-Dreyfus would star as a senator who becomes the vice president.
Chris Godsick, Frank Rich and Iannucci are set to exec produce.
Simon Blackwell is on board to write the show with Iannucci.
