Mendelsohn staying put at CBS
Carol Mendelsohn’s next project looks to be back at CBS.
“CSI” showrunner and “The Defenders” exec producer has sold an untitled crime drama to the Eye based on the mystery novels featuring Jane Whitefield from author Thomas Perry. Craig Sweeney and Julie Weitz will exec produce.
The six Whitefield-centric tomes begin with “The Vanishing Act” in 1995 and end with “Runner” in 2009.
Sweeney was a producer on “Medium” — the Patricia Arquette supernatural drama that shifted from NBC to CBS near the end of its run — and will write as well.
CBS Television Studios is set to produce.

Variety's Team TV -- Cynthia Littleton, Stu Levine, Jon Weisman, Andrew Wallenstein and A.J. Marechal -- provides a roundup of stories big and small, as well as opinions and analysis from across the TV dial.
