Showtime ramps up online offerings
Showtime has launched a new free video streaming service where subscribers will be able to watch all the net’s programming online.
Showtime Anytime, available through the pay cabler’s cable, satellite and telco affiliates, will offer more than 400 hours of Showtime series, movies, sports and other offerings.
Access to the service will vary by operator, but Showtime subscribers will be given authenticated access codes to log on to the newly created site to watch programs any time during the day.
Comcast customers can access the service now through Xfinity TV’s online service at XfinityTV.com. Additional participating MSOs will be announced at a later date.
“We’re excited to be able to offer this added-value service to our subscribers,” said Showtime chairman-CEO Matthew Blank. “With Showtime Anytime, our subscribers will have access to their favorite programs online with an easy-to-use service that provides the flexibility to choose where and when they would like to watch our content.”
