TLC picks up another eight episodes of 'LA Ink'
Exclu: TLC has inked a deal for eight more episodes of the Kat Von D reality series “LA Ink.”
The additional episodes, which will actually serve as the second half of “L.A. Ink’s” fourth season, are set to run in spring 2011. The finale for the first half of this “LA Ink” season airs Wednesday night at 10 p.m.
TLC had previously ordered 13 episodes of season four, which premiered on Aug. 11. This brings the season four total to 21 eps.
This season has followed Kat Von D as the famed tattoo artist deals with the exit of Corey Miller, the last founding member of her High Voltage shop. The artist is also seen writing her second bok, launching her beauty line and expanding her shop.
But “LA Ink” has also chronicled Kat Von D’s tumtultuous personal life -- including her brief relationship with Sandra Bullock’s ex, Jesse James. Insiders confirmed that James initially played a much larger role in season four of “L.A. Ink,” but that his screen time has been dramatically pared back (at the request of Kat Von D).
Behind the scenes, “LA Ink” has also undergone a change, as Gerry McKean (“BBQ Pitmasters”) has replaced Gil Lopez as exec producer. Original Media is behind “LA Ink.”

A man sooner or later discovers that he is the master-gardener of his soul, the director of his life. A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on. Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out. Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.
