'Fringe' will blast to the Friday future a week early

Fringe

"Fringe" will now move to Fridays effective Jan. 21 a 9 p.m., behind the season premiere of "Kitchen Nightmares." That's a week earlier than previously announced.

"Back to the Future" star Christopher Lloyd wil guest star as one of Walter's (John Noble) music heroes. Coincidence that time-travel vet Lloyd will help move "Fringe" to a new night?

Fox will air six original episodes of "Fringe" in a row after it returns for its midseason run.

By the way, another strange (intentional?) coincidence: The "Fringe" Friday night premiere episode is titled "Firefly." "Firefly," of course, was a previous Fox sci-fi entry that aired on Friday nights. (Of course, "Fringe" cast and crew surely hope their show doesn't experience the same fate of that short-lived Joss Whedon series.)
