FCC's Kwon takes leave to host PBS series

The FCC's deputy chief of its consumer and governmental bureau is leaving to host a new PBS series this fall.

Yul Kwon will be the host of "America Revealed," which uses aerial footage, high-definition video and real-time satellite data to depict the complicated logistics behind daily life in the U.S., in areas including energy and food production.

Kwon's diverse career ranges from his work since 2009 on major FCC initiatives (including the National Broadband Plan, consumer protection and education, child online safety, childhood obesity, distracted driving, and wireless network security) to his triumph on CBS' "Survivor" in 2006.

Kwon has also lectured at the FBI Academy, served as an aide to Sen. Joseph Lieberman, clerked for Judge Barrington D. Parker on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, held positions at McKinsey & Co., Google, and the Trium Group and practiced law as an attorney at Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis and at Venture Law Group.
