Kristen Bell heads to Showtime's 'Lies'
Kristen Bell has joined Don Cheadle in the cast of upcoming Showtime series "House of Lies," created by Matthew Carnahan ("Dirt").
The former "Veronica Mars" headliner has spent much of her time since that show's farewell on the bigscreen, with occasional detours like her recurring role on Starz' "Party Down." But this will be her first regular series role since "Mars."
Jessica Borsiczky ("FlashForward") will also exec produce "Lies," based on the book "House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time" by Martin Kihn. Stephen Hopkins ("Californication") will direct.
Bell will play a sharp Ivy League grad that works at the management consultant firm operated by Cheadle's cutthroat Marty.
Emmy-winner Glynn Turman, along with Dawn Oliveri, Josh Lawson, Ben Schwartz and Donis Leonard Jr. are also part of the cast.
Carnahan is juggling "Lies" with "Serpent Girl," a film adaptation of his own novel that will star Armie Hammer, Malin Akerman, Kate Bosworth and Helen Hunt.
