'Project Runway': It must be a sign
Did anyone notice Kenley without makeup? She looked like a different person. Still pretty, but totally different. Anyway, the designers gather to hear their assignment and … What on God’s green earth is Blayne wearing?! (Red skinny jeans, hot pink sweatshirt? Oh my).
Heidi brings out some “special guests” and, guess what?, it’s all of the eliminated designers. They really are into the Old Home Week theme this season aren’t they? The challenge is to pair up with an eliminated designer to create an avant-garde look based on one of the team member’s zodiac signs. My immediate thoughts are: 1) Please don’t pair up Leanne with the other mousy girl; it will only confuse me and 2) I don’t like avant-garde and could care less about zodiac signs. This will be one long hour.
After a day and a half of work wherein it quickly became apparent why the eliminated designers had already been sent home, the designers are summoned to the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the Museum of Natural History to show off their designs to some former “PR” contestants. It’s nice to see some of them (Kara Janx, Daniel, Allison) but I could have lived without seeing others (Carmen and Christian – enough already with him!). I’m neutral on Jay and Robert. Those folks will pick the winner. Our regular panel of judges, plus Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa, will decide which two designers are going home. That’s right, two.
Designs I liked (no, not that one at the left): None really, as avant-garde isn’t my thing, but Korto’s (with Kelli) breezy Aquarius dress; Joe’s (with Daniel) Aries gown — although the bottom half was much better than the bodice; Leanne’s (with Emily) Scorpio crustacean shell; and Jerell’s (with Jennifer) Sagittarius tweedy skirt and Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. The latter ensemble (pictured on the previous page) was almost wearable and won the challenge.
Designs I hated: Terri’s Leo mess that was so bad even the model couldn’t hold her tongue; Kenley’s (with Wesley – anyone remember him?) Aquarius plaid/floral contraption that didn’t follow the assignment and, really, was worse than Terri's; Suede’s (with Jerry) boring Libra Elvis jumpsuit; and, worst of all, Blayne’s (with Stella) hideous homemade Halloween costume that was supposed to represent Libra. Nude footy pajamas, rainbow tulle and leatha straps?! Really?!
Most annoying designer: Terri, who was stubborn, rude and downright unkind to Keith. Hey, he was never my favorite but you’ve got to work with people without being a totally dismissive witch. I’m sure she found a way to blame Keith for her offing.
Frontrunner: Still Korto, but props to the darling Jerell for his win!
Huh?: No Heidi double-cheek-kiss and “Auf wiedersehen” for Blayne? Is that a “PR” first? Is that what he was talking about when he said he was "baffled"?

How did no one mention that the sleeves on Terri's looked like internal organs? Still, I'm disappointed that she was booted instead of Suede; guess PR couldn't bear to lose both him and Blayne in the same week. Who would be left to make up annoying catch phrases?
