Sony inching away from Crackle exclusivity?

How long will Sony Pictures support Crackle? It's a good site with quality video and an assortment of original content mixed with Sony TV shows and movies. But as evidenced by some recent deals, all the action in online video is coalescing around two major sites, and Crackle's not one of them.

So perhaps it's no surprise that, according to CNET News, SPE is talking to YouTube (along with Hulu, one of those two major site) about streaming some of its films. No, it's not giving up on Crackle. But a rare sign of, well, cracking with Crackle exclusivity (the other notable one being SPE's mini-sodes, which first debuted on MySpace). If Sony really wants its videos, be they original or repurposed, to gain traction on the Web, it's hard to imagine it keeping them exclusive to its own relatively small site.
