iWhat? Blackberry maker scores a coup
Sure, the media loves its iPhone (my own review of the 3GS
is forthcoming), but when you get down to brass tacks, the mighty Blackberry is
holding its own just fine these days. Remarkably, this is RIM’s first time on the list – but that’s
only because Fortune did not include non-U.S. firms in the past. The Blackberry Curve actually outsold the iPhone in the
first half of the year – and a follow-up is on the way, which could give the
3GS a run for its money. Apple, by the way, came in at number nine on Fortune’s list. Fortune Magazine named Research in Motion, the maker of the
Blackberry, as the fastest growing tech company in the world. The company
posted an 84 percent growth in profits over the past three years, as well as a
77 percent surge in revenues.

Score a victory for "it's not an iPhone, it's a crackberry".
The /b/lackberry was/is a device that forces you to learn how to use it, and once you are sucked in, it is all over for you. The iPhone, well, any moron can use one. Not that that is a bad thing, but one device has business apps and the other an endless supply of fart-sound generators, so I imagine that it has a lot to do with businesses acknowledging that there is yet another way to enslave employees.
