Vizio kicks off 3D price wars

Vizio-3d

3D HD TVs are barely on the market, but Vizio is already staking its claim in the low-price category. Well, low price as far as 3D sets go…

The company has unveiled its new top of the line model – a 72-inch, 480Hz LCD with 3D, WirelessHD, Internet Apps and Wireless-N. The price? A mere $3,499. 55- and 47-inch models will also be offered for $2,499 and $1,999, respectively.

The sets will go on sale in August, according to Vizio.

3D sets will be all over the CES show floor – with models from Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and others – but the general consensus is all of those will be considerably more expensive when they hit retail.
