That surprise was compounded a year-and-a-half later when Ward announced his intention to run for a Congressional seat in Arizona. Today, though, Ward’s political dreams are at an end – at least temporarily.
Ward was defeated in Tuesday’s Arizona primary in his bid to become the Republican candidate for the state’s 5th District U.S. House seat. With 80 percent of the precincts reporting, Ward was a distant second to projected winner David Schweikert.
Ward spent nine years at LucasArts and served as president for four of those. He was widely credited for guiding the game maker through some of its roughest waters, building it into a solid publisher with steady legs.
After leaving the company, he joined Alsop Louie Partners, a venture capital outfit. He remains with that group today.
