Are things about to get more reasonable at Hulu Plus?

When Hulu announced plans to finally make its streaming service available beyond the PC, people cheered – until they heard the details. Subscribers to Hulu Plus would have to pay a $9.95 monthly fee and still watch the embedded ads in programs? That was a bit much to swallow. Huluplus3

Hulu may finally be about to acknowledge those complaints.

All Things D is reporting that Hulu’s considering cutting the price of Hulu Plus in half to $4.95. That would indicate that beta users of the site aren’t thrilled with what they’re getting for their money – despite the increased number of distribution outlets, including the iPad, PlayStation 3 and Internet-enabled TVs from Samsung.

It’s a move that makes sense. For $1 less per month, consumers can get a wider array of programming from Netflix without ads – though Netflix does rely much more heavily on deeper catalog titles and seasons when it comes to television.
