HBO Go headed to iPad on May 2

HBO is teasing – if not outright announcing - its imminent arrival on the iPhone, iPad and other mobile devices. Hbo-go

The cabler has posted a YouTube video that shows its HBO Go streaming service running on a variety of tablets and phones, including Apple's iconic brands. At the end, the HBO Go logo is shown with the date 5.2.11 shown underneath, presumably the mobile launch date for the service.

The video notes that a minimum 3G connection is required for viewing on mobile devices as well, meaning people will be able to watch their favorite series and films from the channel from virtually any location.

The voiceover on the video is pretty clear: "Get every episode of every season of your favorite HBO shows, plus hit movies and much more. All free to HBO subscribers and all streaming on your iPad, laptop, or smartphone wherever you are."

HBO Go has been available to many subscribers via their PC for over a year, but this is the service's first foray into the mobile world. Just remember: "Boardwalk Empire" is ok to watch when you're at the airport. "Real Sex"… not so much.
