Schwag Giveaway: Gears of War, Guitar Hero, Force Unleashed, Spore
The last time I tried to give away free schwag on this blog, not a single one of the seven people who tried to win it in the comments could follow simple instructions. So let's try this again and hope my readers prove themselves a little smarter this time.
Here are the publicity items I recently received for free that I'd love to send to Cut Scene readers. All pictured on the left except the "Spore" game, which you can see here if you need to know what the box looks like:
-An Aerosmith cover for your "Guitar Hero" controller. For all of you who love "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith"
-"The Art and Making of 'Star Wars: the Force Unleashed'" coffee table
book
-"Beneath the Surface: An Inside Look at 'Gears of War 2'" book
-"Spore: Creature Creator" (EA reps were handing these out at E3 as if they were crack samples and it was a dealer at a playground)
Want to win one of these items? The rules are very simple. But you have to follow them all. ESPECIALLY THE LAST ONE, which past entrants have had a really hard time with.
-You can't have won a previous schwag giveaway
-I can't know you personally
-You must leave a comment indicating which item you would like (one per person please) and indicating some genuine enthusiasm for it
-You must include your e-mail address in the comment. Otherwise, how am I going to contact you to get your address and mail it to you?
Update: The contest is now over. But look for another schwag giveaway soon.

Of all of the schwag giveaway items I would love to get my hands on the Star Wars art and making of book. I am an aspiring concept designer and a huge fan of Star Wars (who isn't?) so this would be a double prize for me in a sense.

Hey there!
I bet I'm too late for this giveaway, but I thought I'd swing in and leave a comment anyway. I really would have liked to have that Gears of War 2 book, because I am going to be writing a feature for it in the gaming blog I belong to. Extra info would have been amazing, plus I can't wait for the game to be released! You're very generous to be giving away all this cool stuff! Maybe next time I can get here a little earlier~ ^_^
My e-mail address is killlltacular@gmail.com anyway. :]

Hey, I'd LOVE to have that Gears book (capital letters = enthusiasm, right?). I am currently without my 360 since it's red-ringed, so this would really make my month.
Thanks-- ericelftmann@comcast.net

Hi there!
My name is Kyle and I am a new reader who is looking at starting a blog of his own and would like to watch yours a little before he does. I hope that this is still going on. I am big into Spore and love the creativity that can go into making creatures in it. My girlfriend and I have a lot in common, but she does not get overly excited about gaming... until she saw the spore creature creator trial. Now, creating creatures is something we enjoy doing together very much and I would love it if I could get my hands on the full version (she would too!) Sharing our creativity is fun and a great new way for us to enjoy our time together!
I can be reached at tsukasa200422@yahoo.com

Okay, my name is George. I can be reached at grohac AT kwanzoo dawt com.
I'd totally dig the spore creature creator, I haven't been able to find it in a store in my area for some reason, and I'd rather not do the download. But my friends have been leaving me in the dust when it comes to creating creature.

That's a fair enough point, Warren. Though I don't think I'm being too unjust since I did specifically ask people to include their email address. I suppose next time I could say that if people are uncomfortable doing that, they can indicate as such and I can go into Typepad and find their e-mail. It's a bit of a pain, but doable. For now, though, it looks like everything has been won.

The instructions could have been clearer last time. There is a space to enter an email address when entering a comment and it's not unreasonable to think that the author of a blog would have access to the information submitted by those who comment.
Alas, I will buy the Force Unleashed book. And sign everyone who left an email address here up for some free pr0n.

Salut Ben,
I would love to get the "The Art and Making of Star Wars: the Force Unleashed" for the same reasons as Jason, except I was actually born when the first Star Wars movie came out! Hehe!

I passed the free Creature Creator to a friend of mine who has creative kids. The kids have already begun lobbying Santa Claus for their own personal computer (on which they will only create Creatures) and have told their parents they have 3 hiding places for said computer, so the parents can't impose their 1-creature per day only rule.
They have a *rule* in place where their only allowed to make one a day. I think that's some passion for the product.

Erm, must we actually put our email address in the comment text? When there's an address field two lines above? (So asks seanlindsay @ hotmail.com, author of previous comment, who doesn't want to appear to be an idiot...)

I'm going to put my fist in the air for the Aerosmith Guitar Hero Controller cover.
My fondest memory of *any* concert experience was watching Aerosmith live back in 1990 -- the very last show of their "comeback" Pump tour. The band rocked with the intensity of men who knew they probably wouldn't play live again for a year or more, and at the end of the show all the roadies took to the stage to sing the last notes of "Love in an Elevator", then *destroyed* the stage set with hammers. I still can't hear any of their songs from that era without thinking of that show.

Whoops, actually nix my last note. I misread...i already have the Spore Creature Creator. Instead, could I get the copy of the "Beneath the Surface: An Inside Look at 'Gears of War 2'" book?
I loved the first game. And really love the graphics I'm seeing in the second.

Ben, I would love to get the "Spore: Creature Creator". I'm really excited about the game, don't know exactly what it is you're giving away. But if it has to do with Spore, it should be cool.
My email is junkmayle@gmail.com
thanks,
Charles

Dear Mr. Fritz,
Love to get "The Art and Making of 'Star Wars: The Force Unleashed'" coffee table book, I would.
Reasons being ____fold (numerical value to be determined at a later date when I tally up the reasons):
1. I owned the original VHS box of A New Hope because my parents had bought it before I was born in '85... it was quite beaten up by the time I was 4 and watched it on a regular basis.
2. I wrote my high school history research paper on the mythological influences of the movie and cultural impacts of Star Wars when it hit in '77.
3. I'm a very avid gamer. I got started with Return of the Jedi on the SNES and of course, the original X-Wing. My excitement for TF:U should go without saying (especially on the Wii).
4. I even played Star Wars: Galaxies for a short time. My main avatar was a wookiee and I made it my social duty to correct everyone on that server who misspelled wookiEE.
5. Aww, come on! Please?
Sincerely,
--Jason
