Fox cancels 'Skin' skein after low-rated outings
Our own Josef Adalian reports that Fox has cancelled Jerry Bruckheimer sudser "Skin" after three episodes.
News comes following the show's disheartening Monday perf. "Skin," from Jerry Bruckheimer TV and Warrner Bros. TV, averaged a 1.8/4 in adults 18-49 and 4 million viewers, down markedly from the previous week's already-disappointing ratings.
Despite a massive p.r. campaign on behalf of the show, viewers simply never showed up for "Skin." Industry insiders were buzzing Tuesday about the reasons for the skein's failure. Among the theories: Viewers may have been turned off by the idea of a show with a porn industry backdrop or perhaps auds looking for suds in their diet may have been sated by Fox's WBTV-produced "The O.C."
