Fashion Week Blackberry Report, Part III (NYC)

Peter Som's velvet tux jacket and knickersIt was the second to last day of fashion week and the wear was definitely showing. Thankfully for the cognoscenti, Peter Som’s show was relatively calm. His take on some of the coming season’s biggest trends -- loads of velvet, poufed sleeves, schoolgirl-y chic -- were some of the most refined and wearable yet. Standouts include a fierce charcoal bomber jacket with fox collar (sure to have a waiting list) and a short, robe-like red velvet dress that had a slight ’20s feel. And should Marc Jacobs’ Wednesday Addams muse need a dinner date, one of Som’s riskier looks was an Edwardian-style black velvet tuxedo jacket with frilly white blouse over knickers, perfect for the Eddie Munster in all of us. Stay tuned for more ...
