Fashion Week Dispatch: Louis Verdad (L.A.)
Although Louis Verdad claimed Frida Kahlo as a muse for his fall collection shown on Sunday (a rousing finale to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week), the designer didn’t stray too far from his signature ’40s silhouette and menswear-inspired suiting. Kahlo’s vividly colored aesthetic was evident in a satiny, turquoise, tunic-like top and a rich, burgundy dress with sheer ruffled layers (not to mention the models’ bold, defined makeup), but they were balanced by wool pants and tweed jackets in light charcoals and chocolates. Rachel Griffiths, Anna Wintour, Garcelle Beauvais and L.A.’s fash pack crowded the front row to support one of the city’s designing darlings. And by the time the last model sashayed down the runway, even the usually poker-faced Wintour couldn’t help but grin.

Love the style!
The reports from Hello Magazine (http://hellomagazine.com/fashion/2005/10/18/louisverdad/) and the L.A. Times (http://www.latimes.com/features/lifestyle/la-et-fashion18oct18,1,5347838.story?ctrack=1&cset=true) got one thing wrong: the dog wasn't being walked in a baby stroller but in a pet stroller--the Happy Trails PLUS Pink pet stroller. Hello Magazine called it the "highlight of the Sunday-in-the-Park style show."
Since we own a small online boutique specializing in pet strollers, we wanted to share the info and a link: http://justpetstrollers.com/happy_trails_plus_pink_pet_stroller.html. All that pet style for less than $125!

Shu Uemura's Gold Standard Rumor has it the CEO of Sephora often credits his company’s fortune to sales of Shu Uemura’s eyelash curler. Yes, the miracle tool is just that dominant and it's commemorating 15 years on the beauty scene with a 24-carat version. A luxe case also comes with the upgraded curler, which started out as a makeup-artist fave and has since landed in the cosmetics bags of in-the-know beauty buffs everywhere. $37,
