Here's one way to look at TablePronto.com: Reservation scalping must mean the Los Angeles restaurant scene has arrived.
There's coverage at Gridskipper and Eater LA; also check out Eater's analysis early this year of a similar product, PrimeTimeTables.com, where membership costs $500 a year and the damn site doesn't even list the benefits or the restaurants you can access.
As an Eater LA commenter points out, "Osteria Mozza and very recently opened restaurants aside, I can't imagine a place in L.A. where one would be hard-pressed to get a reservation with a few days' advance (and some flexibility in scheduling)."
While that's not entirely true -- Fraiche has been a bitch of late and I expect Comme Ca to follow suit -- I wish we had more of a restaurant reservation problem. But we don't; we have a restaurant-lounge reservation problem. TablePronto's nascent list of reservation sales includes Yamashiro ($7), Ketchup ($7), Asia De Cuba ($10) and Katsuya Hollywood ($9).

This is just silly. And also useless at present, since most of the places on there can be booked just as easily on OpenTable.
