Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings have set Oct. 2 as the release date for their third album, "100 Days, 100 Nights."
An incomparable soul and funk band that has played behind Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, the Dap Kings and their label, Daptone Records, are one of the great indie success stories of the 21st century.Band's album "Naturally" has sold more than 50,000 copies and, stunningly they have sold more than 20,000 vinyl 45s.
Prepping for the release, the Brooklyn-based Dap-Kings have issued a list of achievements of the last two years - and they don't even mention the great Lee Fields, who also records for the label.
Their music has been sampled by Jurassic 5, Ghostface Killah, Kanye West and Rhymefest; national TV Campaign for "I Love NY" featured them performing their version of Woody Guthrie's "This Land is your Land"; and Jones performed "Berlin"  with Lou Reed in Australia, Europe, and the U.S. The label's Website has a clip of their performance on Conan O'Brien's show.
