Music Sales: How Low Can They Go?

Kidrockjesus Hits magazine is reporting that Kid Rock will hold onto the No. 1 slot on the album chart for a second week, but his "Rock N Roll Jesus" will post the lowest sales total of any October chart-topper ever. Kid Rock, Hits calculates, will beat Bruce Springsteen's "Magic" by a very small margin.

Music sales can, and will, go to absolute zero before the poor troglodites currently managing the industry will wake up and change business processes.

I guess we'll just have to wait for those utterly baffled folks to die of old age before we can have a viable industry again.

i think it's been going slowly downhill since they started phasing vinyl lp's out in the mass market in 1989-90, and that didn't really work it just went underground....i love my ipod, the magic is gone from going to the record store.
