U2 is not leaving Universal. Manager Paul McGuinness debunked a foxnews.com story in a correspondence with Hits. U2 has apprently re-upped with UMG for four more albums.

Obviously, they got paid big time to stay. I wonder what the details of the deal are. It would be interesting to see the effect from the industry downturn on Superstar acts.

U2 is an important part of commercial music. I'm sure the deal is amazing! But U2 has always been smart about seeing the big picture and not caring so much about the upfront money! they are so wealthy anyways!
