David Berman and the rest of his Silver Jews gang will be hitting the road in August for a three month US tour in support of their excellent new album "Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea" -- released by Drag City on June 17. The record is a simplification of the sound Berman perfected on "Tanglewood Numbers," leaving more room for his gruff baritone and surrealist lyrical vignettes. It sounds kind of like Leonard Cohen singing "Blonde On Blonde" with Johnny Cash's Tennessee Three providing the accompaniment -- Nothing short of stellar.
