Political Manilow Bails on 'The View'

Barrymani Barry Manilow did not get the interviewer he requested on "The View" and bailed on his appearance scheduled for Tuesday, the release date for his collection of '70s covers.
"It’s really too bad because I've always been a big supporter of the show, but I cannot compromise my beliefs," he wrote on his website. "The good news is that I will be on a whole slew of other shows promoting the new album so I hope you can catch me on those."
On QVC last week, Manilow sold 40,000 pre-orders of "Greatest Songs Of The 70s" after performing his hits live on the home shopping channel.
