Bryan Cranston to host TCAs, Byron Allen takes on Daytime Emmys Creative Arts

Bryan Cranston will host the Television Critics Assn. Awards on July 28, while Byron Allen will host the Creative Arts portion of the Daytime Emmys on Sunday.

"As host of the TCA Awards, Cranston will open the invitation-only show with a monologue," the TCA press release explains, "then segue into the awards presentation that recognizes the best television programming of the 2011-2012 season."

The "Breaking Bad" star is nominated in the TCAs for individual achievement in drama, a category he won in 2009, and also has won Emmys the past three years he has been eligible (2008-10). He also has well-known comedy chops through his stints on such shows as "Malcolm and the Middle" and "Seinfeld" — so well-known that this sentence is superfluous.

Nick Offerman hosted last year's TCAs, which are held at the Beverly Hilton during the org's summer press tour. The full list of TCA nominees can be found here.

Allen, the longtime talkshow host, is founder, chairman and CEO of prolific shingle Entertainment Studios, which produces, distributes and sells advertising for 28 television series — including 2012 Daytime Emmy nominees "America’s Court with Judge Ross,” “We the People with Gloria Allred,” and “Cars.TV.” The Daytime Creative Arts Emmys will be held at the Westin Bonaventure.
