So many supporting actors, so little time

RC
For the Variety Road to the Emmys: The Supporting Actor and Actress preview, the discussion point is how showrunners juggle large ensembles to make sure they get the right amount of screen time.

In addition, there are profiles on some of the top contenders in new shows or new roles: Kristen Bell, Jake Johnson and Max Greenfield, Tony Hale, Cheryl Hines, Maya Rudolph, Allison Williams, Morena Baccarin, Robert Carlyle, Jack Davenport, Giancarlo Esposito, Neal McDonough, Katharine McPhee, Nick Nolte, Lana Parrilla and Mandy Patinkin.

About

Christy GroszA native of Los Angeles raised by two parents and "Hill Street Blues," Jon Weisman ankled his scriptwriting career and began working for Variety in 2004, subsequently serving as associate editor of features and television reporter before becoming awards editor. He promises not to use this platform to retroactively campaign for Oscars for “The Misfits,” though he’d feel justified in doing so.
