What you'll see on stage at the Tonys
With the Tony Awards coming Sunday, here’s a look at the performances that will be featured during CBS’ primetime broadcast of the ceremony.
On the musical side, there will be pieces from nominees “Newsies,” “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” “Once,” “Evita,” “Follies,” “The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Leap of Faith” and “Ghost the Musical,” as well as from 2011 winner “The Book of Mormon.”
In addition, performances will also be put on from best play nominees “End of the Rainbow,” “One Man, Two Guvnors” and “Peter and the Starcatcher.”
Other bits will come from the casts of “Ghost the Musical” and “Godspell.”
Neil Patrick Harris is hosting, with Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment returning as executive producers and Weiss directing.

A native of Los Angeles raised by two parents and "Hill Street Blues," Jon Weisman ankled his scriptwriting career and began working for Variety in 2004, subsequently serving as associate editor of features and television reporter before becoming awards editor. He promises not to use this platform to retroactively campaign for Oscars for “The Misfits,” though he’d feel justified in doing so.
