'Master' shoots an Aero through film fans' hearts

Fever for Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" was stoked late Friday by a surprise screening at Santa Monica's Aero Theater, rewarding those who had turned out to see a new print of "The Shining." Details on the enthusiastically received night can be found via Sasha Stone at Awards Daily, Jeffrey Wells at Hollywood Elsewhere, Kris Tapley at In Contention, Russ Fischer at SlashFilm and Oliver Lyttleton at the Playlist.

"The Master" recently had its opening date moved up to Sept. 14, following an official premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
