Alda, Lear earn International Emmy honors

Though no U.S. programs receive nominations for the 40th annual International Emmy Awards — which do take place in New York City — Alan Alda and Norman Lear will each receive special Founders Awards at the Nov. 19 ceremony, as Elsa Keslassy notes in her recap for Variety. (Previously, it was announced that Ryan Murphy would be presented with the International Emmy Founders Award.)
