Jan. 10 is going to be an awkward night
On the morning of Jan. 10, a bunch of people will learn they got Oscar nominations and a bunch more will learn they didn't. Then that evening, the two bunches will mix, however uncomfortably, at the ceremony for the Critics' Choice Movie Awards.
Anyway, nominations for the CCMAs were announced this morning. Here are their 10 best picture nominees, with total nominations in parentheses.

He promises not to use this platform to retroactively campaign for Oscars for “The Misfits,” though he’d feel justified in doing so.
